We are a local based charity who provides advice, information and support to unpaid carers in the Leeds area. An unpaid carer is someone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction cannot cope without their support. According to the last census there are 72,000 carers in Leeds alone and it is our aim to help as many as possible by providing assistance through our advice line, drop in centre and many support groups.
We are aware that there are many carers in Leeds who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or Questioning and from Monday 19th June 2017 between 1pm-3pm Carers Leeds will be running a group to support the LGBTQ community at our office at 6-8 The Headrow. This group will provide advice, information and support for carers in a comfortable stress free environment.
